MEXC Reports Storage and Memory Stock Futures Dominated Trading During Big Tech Earnings Season

MUTSAMUDU, Comoros, Sept. 01, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MEXC, a pioneer in 0-fee digital asset trading, has released new data on individual stock futures activity during the latest U.S. tech earnings season. Between July 20 and August 7, 2026, when six major U.S. technology companies reported, storage and memory stocks accounted for 67.3% of trading, up from 57.5% over the preceding 19 days. The combined share of Alphabet, Tesla, Meta, Microsoft, Apple, and Amazon barely moved, from 2.6% to 2.7%.
Storage and memory stocks therefore held nearly 25 times the trading share of the six major technology companies. Chip design and manufacturing, the group that includes NVIDIA, also remained almost unchanged at 5.4%, compared with 5.3% before the period; NVIDIA had not reported at the time.
One company's results moved activity across related assets. On July 29, SK Hynix reported a 257% year-over-year rise in second-quarter revenue and a 557% increase in operating profit, linking the growth to AI server demand, rising memory prices, and long-term supply agreements.
That same day, MEXC trading volume rose 140% for Micron and 110% for the Roundhill Memory ETF. Samsung volume increased 272% ahead of its own results the following day, and the Direxion Daily South Korea Bull 3X Shares ETF (KORU) and the Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bull 3X Shares ETF (SOXL) rose 116% and 25%, respectively.
On July 30, Samsung projected stronger demand for server DRAM, enterprise SSDs, and HBM in the second half of the year, and indicated that supply could remain tight. MEXC volume rose 20% for Micron, 19% for SanDisk, 34% for KORU, and 15% for SOXL.
"Storage manufacturers share the same demand, pricing, and supply conditions, so one earnings report updates the picture for all of them," said Vugar Usi, Chief Executive Officer at MEXC. "Our users acted on that. They traded peer manufacturers and sector products on days when those assets had no results of their own."
Among the 10 key assets examined in the report — the six technology companies plus Intel, SanDisk, SK Hynix, and Samsung — 60% reached their highest trading volume outside the earnings day itself: 50% peaked after earnings and 10% before the release. The other 40% reached their peak on earnings day.
SK Hynix's futures product tracking Korean-listed shares reached its trading-window peak on August 11, 13 calendar days after the earnings release, at about 1.5 times its earnings-day volume. Four days earlier, the company had approved approximately KRW 54 trillion for new DRAM and NAND production facilities.
Activity also responded to industry news while traditional equity markets were closed. Average Sunday trading volume for MEXC Stock Futures was 25.4% of the Tuesday-to-Friday daily average. On Sunday, August 9, platform-wide individual stock volume fell 40.3% from the previous day, while the SK Hynix product rose approximately 228% after news of the company's factory investment plan.
